Dress up your post with Pictures

Pictures make your post stand out more. One thing to keep in mind though is: THINK AHEAD!!!
You would be surprised at the amount of time finding just the right picture for your post will take.
A real life example: I had a picture I wanted to load for this post. I already had made the picture myself. It took me 10 minutes to find where I saved it. It took me another 5 minutes to get the thing to load into WordPress (normally this is very quick, but for some reason today it just didn’t cooperate). After it did load, it would not show at the correct size that I wanted it, and I could not adjust it. Frustration ALL OVER.
Second, I was going to offer at the bottom of the post the picture on a shirt, then you could all click on the shirt and be brought to my From Pink Slip CafePress shop and be able to purchase the shirt since it is pretty rockin. More frustration insued. This time because of Microsoft Internet Explorer, I got the blasted “can not show files because we are overprotecting you” message. I was offered the option of showing the content anyway, but when I chose that option I was presented with the same blocked content. These are images of shirts and stuff that I had just viewed, and they are stuff I have viewed a lot over the course of a couple years. I tried adding the site to my “Good People’ list so MS Internet Explorer wouldn’t block it, but that did not work. I tried using the Help tool and going into the advanced settings and checking the appropriate boxes but that did not work either. So, for the second part – a simple copy paste operation, I was failed once again due to Microsoft Internet Explorer’s overbearing protection. They have now forced my hand to downloading another browser. So, I blew another 15 – 20 minutes trying to get that shirt picture and again resulting failure.
I use 3 browsers at work (Chrome, FireFox, Internet Explorer). Most days I only use Internet Explorer, but if I want to look at more than 1 Google Finance page, for some ‘strange reason’ IE just doesn’t like the Google Finance. So I use Chrome for that purpose. Firefox handles it well also.
Bottom line: 30 minutes – 35 minutes later you are still left w/o a picture as an example in a post about how adding pictures to your posts will make them Pop a little and add to the reader’s experience.
Want to see the shirt I was going to put up? It has the picture I was going to start the post with. Click here to go to the shop and see the shirt. With any luck you are not using Internet Explorer and you will be able to see the shirts (or you might have the magic settings correct and be able to as well.
