Starting with BloggersBase

Ok, I covered the Free vs. Pay sites last week, and I want to show you how to create one of the free accounts.

I am choosing BloggersBase as the first example because it is the easiest to set up.  There is little customization, and if you are interested in getting your posts out to readers, this can be a good tool since the site is set up to publish your content either on your personal blog or on the community blog.  You can also make money if you write good content for the community blog.

How’s that?  Money?  Yep, they pay their top bloggers.  BloggersBase is also fairly new, so if you are gunho, you can really become a respected blogger there.

How does it work?  How do I set one up?

Here is how to set up a blog on BloggersBase.

  • Just click on the banner at the bottom of this post to go to BloggersBase.
  • Click “Join
  • Type in a Email, Password, Nickname
  • Read the rules
  • Click Submit
  • You can now go to your profile where there will be options to create posts.
  • If you create a post, there is step-by-step wizard that walks you through how to post it, creating tags, etc.
  • You will have to choose if you want to publish it on your personal blog &/or the community blog.
  • Your blog’s name will be your nickname.  Your web address will be something like this: http://www.bloggersbase.com/users/Ben/blog/
    • As you can see, since this is one of the free solutions, you have the bloggersbase.com in the address.  “Ben” is my nickname on BloggersBase.
  • BloggersBase also gives you options to invite friends to view your blog, and much more.  I will cover more of the features in later posts.

Did you find the instructions easy enough?  What is the name of your blog? Is there something you though I should have covered in this how to get set up post?

Ben
