Extra post about site names

Alright, I touched on the naming of your site earlier this week, and also made a post about it a couple weeks ago.  I thought I would share with you a couple of other websites who made posts on the subject as well.  If you are still considering your name, you should head on over to these sites to read their tips.

First up is Blogger Newbie – Dee made a post in December about What is in a Name.  She has a cool feature on her site that shows some of the more popular posts and that is how I found it.  Her post contrasts the tips for thinking of a name for a brick and mortar and then tips for thinking of a name for your online site.

Second up is Average Gal – Dee’s post in Blogger Newbie actually referenced Average Gal’s post about naming.  Rachel has 5 great tips about picking a name for your site.  Definately something to read and think about as you come up with your naming options.

I ran across both of those great posts in a matter of minutes just from reading other people’s sites.  If you only read one site or a few sites, I would encourage you to find more.  The first place I look is the Blogroll of the sites I already read.  Those are the sites that author likes and they could possibly be great for you as well.  The second place I look is the Blog Log application.  If there is a box with a bunch of little pictures in it (as you see on my right side), then I click on some of the pictures to see what their blogs do. 

Hope I caught you in time and you are still brainstorming your site name.  If you already registered a name, you could still get a different one and just forward the first to the second.
