Hello, and Welcome to Blogmaster General

This is a site created to teach readers about blogs, blogging and how you can create your own blog.  If you are anything like me, the word blog didn’t really mean anything to you until recently.  I knew what blogs were, but to me they were only a way to allow your family and friends to keep in touch with what you were up to.  As I researched further I found that there is much more to this phenomenon.  There are a lot of blogs out there specifically designed for social causes, product and service reviews, industries, general business topics, and yes personal blogs so Grandma can see all the pictures of their grandchildren. 

 The blog is also increasingly being used by news agencies.  Yes, some of the larger news sites can now be categorized as blogs.  The setups are very similar, and they allow for instant reader feedback.  That is essentially what a blog is. 

Blogging can be done for informative, personal, or even monetary reasons.  On this site I will bring you step-by-step through how to create a blog of your own, and even how to make money by blogging.  I will also show you how to comment on others blogs. 

 I will show you several different blogging software packages, and will start with the free sites.  These sites host your blog and therefore your site address is an extension of theirs.  Advertising on these free blogs is also a little different as each has their own rules on how advertising is handled.

I plan on starting off slowly and explaining how things are done in a relatively easy to understand way.  Please feel free to make comments, and suggestions and I will try and respond accordingly.

 Together we can learn about blogging and you can create and maintain your own blog as we go.  I am very interested in hearing other people’s ideas, blogs, and experiences.
